A stepper motor is a brushless, synchronous electric motor that converts digital pulses into precise mechanical rotation. Each revolution is divided into a fixed number of equal steps, typically 200, and the motor advances one step for every pulse it receives. Because each pulse turns the shaft by a set angle, usually 1.8°, you can control position accurately without a feedback system.
